Which is the best season to visit London?
Every season is suitable to visit London.
In winter most slghts are open, some with reduced opening times. The
busiest periods are from Easter to September and when other European
countries enjoy a pubilc holiday. Young people often come for the
weekend to enjoy the shopping, pubs, music venues and club scene.
Spring and autumn are the best seasons for visiting parks and gardens
when the towers are in bloom or the leaves are tuming colour.
The summer season is marked by traditional events: Royal Ascot, Henley
Royal Regatta, Trooping the Colour, the Proms and outdoor concerts and
theatre at many stately homes.
Autumn and winter are the best time for visiting museums or for shopping,
as places are less crowded, except in the weeks before Christmas, halfterm
and school holidays.
During the Christmas holidays, baubles flash in the windows of
liberty's, Hamley’s Toy Shop and Harvey Nichols; Oxford and Regent
Streets light up and the streets ring with the sound of carols. In addition
to the usual school holidays in the spring and summer and at Christmas,
there are mid-term breaks in Feb, May and October.
