London Heathrow

Heathrow handles most major airline scheduled flights. It is situated 20 miles west of London off the A4 / M4 and equipped with short- and long-term car parks.

Tube/Underground services to Central London are provided by the Piccadilly Line between 5am and 12midnight. Average journey time from Heathrow T4 to Piccad ily Circus: 50 minutes. Cost: £4 (single cash fare). At night the N9 bus shuttles between Heathrow and Trafalgar Square every 30min.

The Heathrow Express (25min) provides a fast altemative rail link into Paddington Station, departing every 15 mins;journey time 15 mins to Terminals 1, 2 and 3, 23 mins to Terminal 4.

National Express also operates a coach service to and from Heathrow and London Victoria Coach Station every 30 minutes, 5.30am to 8.50pm. Approximate journey time: 60/75 minutes. Cost £10 (single), £15 (return).

London Gatwick

30 miles to the south down the M25/M23 (short- and long-term car parks at the airport). Two, 'North' and 'South,' terminals handle flights to destinations worldwide, including scheduled, charter and low-cost flights.

From Gatwick to London by train

The Rail link Gatwick Express shuttles to and from Victoria Station (30min; 35min at night and on Sun). Departures every 15 minutes from 5am and hourly after midnight. Cost £14.90 (single), £26 .00 (return).

From Gatwick to London by taxi

Taxi services are provided by the airport's official concesslonaire, Checker Cars in North and South Terminals. There is a quoted fare system and the cost of the journey is made known to customers in advance. From Gatwick to London by bus

Airbus A5 and National Express Speedlink

Buses operate daily between 4.40am and 10.15pm from Gatwick North and South Terminals to Victoria (90min) via Streatham High Road and Clapham Rd, Stockwell; and between 3.30am and 10pm from London Victoria Coach Station to Gatwick North and South Terminals. Stansted Airport

Located in Blshop's Stortford, Essex, about 35 miles northeast of London.

An extension to the DLR offers a direct rail link with the airport. Alternatively, there are bus links to Canning Town/or Canary Wharf (l0min, Yellow Route) for transfer onto the Jubilee Line, and to Liverpool Street station (25min, Red Route) for underground and mainline railway services to Cambridge and East Anglia (including Stansted Airport).
