Valencia is the capital of the autonomous region and Valencia province. It is the third largest city in Spain. Its population is 810 064 (based on data from 2008). And the area of Valencia is 134.65 sq. km.
There are lost of sights, historical monuments and futuristic attractions in Valencia. The beautiful building of the basilica of the Virgin is located on the square of the Virgin (Placa de la Virgen). You can go on its roof and see whole Valencia. On the same square is the fountain Turia. At one intersection is the square de la Rhine (Placa de la Reina). There is a cathedral, orange trees and numerous bars and restaurants. An important part of the city is the park – "Garden of Turia" - a good place for cyclists and pedestrians. The river had been divided into 2 parts - one part had dried and it was turned into a park. The city of Arts and Sciences (Ciutat de les Arts i les Ciencies) is a symbol of Valencia. This is an exquisite complex, which continues to be built until today. It includes a museum of science, 3D movies, and the biggest oceanographic museum in Europe. The buildings of these museums are quite different and surreal beautiful.
